Hey there! I'm Abi.
I’m a proud Old Town Alexandria native who has always had a passion for creativity, connection, and storytelling.
Why I do this
As a mom to two amazingly bright, spirited, and beautiful little girls, I know firsthand how quickly childhood passes by. Every laugh, tiny hand in yours, milestone reached, and fleeting expression feels like something you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. Photography allows me to preserve those moments—the joyful smiles, quiet cuddles, playful chaos, and genuine connections that make your family uniquely yours. My hope is to create images that transport you back to this season of life years from now, helping you remember not just what these days looked like, but how they felt. Because while childhood may be fleeting, the memories don't have to be.
How I work
My photography style is rooted in storytelling and documentary photography, capturing genuine moments rather than stiff poses. Most of my sessions take place outdoors in beautiful Old Town Alexandria, where natural light and charming backdrops help create timeless images. I photograph everything from newborns, families, grandparents, maternity sessions, engagements, and gender reveals to baby showers, birthday parties, and preschool portraits. My goal is to create a fun, relaxed experience filled with movement, laughter, connection, and authentic emotion so your photos feel like you.
★Mini sessions are $250 and include a 25-minute session with 30+ hand-edited images delivered in an online gallery.
★Full sessions are $400 and include up to one hour of photography with 60+ hand-edited images delivered in an online gallery within two weeks.
★ Please inquire about pre-school portraits.
Every gallery is thoughtfully curated to tell the story of your family and preserve the moments you'll want to remember for years to come.
Fun Facts about me
Before launching my photography business, I spent 15 years in education, including a decade as a National Board Certified elementary school art teacher in Alexandria, where I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts from College of Charleston. My love of teaching and learning has taken me around the world, with experiences working in schools in Tanzania, South Africa, Vietnam, and Guatemala. While I love traveling and exploring new places, my heart will always belong to the Lowcountry of South Carolina, where I was married and where I find endless inspiration in the marshes, beaches, and slower pace of life. Those experiences have shaped the way I approach photography—with curiosity, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the stories that make every family unique.
